ExoSiD™

What is ExoSiD™?

ExoSiD™ is a technology that allows the isolation of exosomes from liquids such as cell culture, plasma and urine in a short time and with simple laboratory equipment.Isolation of exosomes is a very difficult process that requires special equipment. Obtaining high purity from marking vesicles is a costly process. ExoSiD™ provides high purity isolation without marking for all treatment research and analysis processes. The whole process is carried out with injector, injector pump, centrifuge using ExoSiD™, which performs insulation using ultrafiltration technique.

What is Exosome and Autologous Exosome?

An exosome is a type of small vesicle or bubble found in the microscopic size and in various biological fluids. They participate in various biological processes, such as providing communication between cells and transmitting signals. Exosomes are formed inside the cell and can be released out of the cell membrane, contributing to various cellular functions. Exosomes can contain a variety of cellular contents, including proteins, nucleic acids (RNA and DNA), lipids, and metabolites. These properties make exosomes a tool for the transmission of genetic material and other molecular information between cells. Exosomes can play a role in many biological processes such as immune system regulation, cell signaling, cell growth, and tissue repair. In addition, exosomes are of great importance in research and in medicine, a field that focuses on cellular communication and the understanding of diseases. In this field, exosomes are examined as biomarkers and therapeutic tools that can potentially be used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The term “autologous exosome” refers to exosomes obtained from a person’s own cells. The term “autologus” means the one belonging to the same individual. In this context, autologous exosomes are exosomes produced using the patient’s own biological material and used for therapeutic or research purposes. Autologous exosomes are usually obtained from samples taken from the patient’s body. It is often used in research and potential therapeutic applications that focus on regulating cellular communication, supporting regeneration or treating diseases. Research and applications in this field are developing rapidly. In addition, it is thought that autologous exosomes may have less potential for exposure to immune incompatibility problems because they are derived from the patients’ own bodies.

What is the efficiency of isolation with ExoSiD™?

In the study, Ultracentrifugal, PEG precipitation and ExoSiD™ methods were compared and shown that the efficiency of ExoSiD™ is several times higher than the other two commercial products.

* In the same study, it was found that the amount of vesicles obtained from ExoSiD™ was found to be higher in 2 different cell lines, as well as plasma, bronchoalveolar lavage and urine, and in all liquids.

What is the difference between ExoSiD™ and other techniques? Why should it be preferred?

Since the person’s own exosome samples cannot be performed with very difficult and simple methods, many different physical and chemical methods are used. There are many methods that allow analysis, but these methods mark or deform the exosomes so that they cannot be reused. In addition, in order for these methods to be widely used in treatment and diagnosis, it is necessary to provide the highest performance with appropriate infrastructure costs. Among these methods, ExoSiD™ is the high-tech product with the lowest infrastructure cost, the highest efficiency, and does not create physical or chemical deformation on its exosomes.
